Ramesh Pokhriyal
Ramesh Pokhriyal "Nishank" ((ヒンディー語:रमेश पोखरियाल "निशंक"); born August 15, 1959) is an Indian politician belonging to the Bharatiya Janata Party. He was Chief Minister of Uttarakhand from 2009 to 2011. He is a Member of Parliament in 16th Lok Sabha. He represents the Haridwar Parliamentary Constituency of Uttarakhand in Lok Sabha and is a senior member of the Bharatiya Janta Party.〔Haridwar (Lok Sabha constituency)〕
==Early life==
He was born to Parmanand Pokhriyal and Vishwambhari Devi at Pinani village in Pauri Garhwal district in Uttar Pradesh (presently in Uttarakhand).
Ramesh Pokhariyal 'Nishank' was born in a poor family at village Pinani in District Pauri Garhwal of Great Himalayas. He obtained primary education from village school & High school certificate from Government Inter College, Damdeval. He was inspired with sprit of nationalism since his childhood. 'Nishank' obtained his higher education in Haridwar. He chose career of a teacher and writer. Right from his early age he has been dedicated to noble cause of serving Hindi literature. 'Nishank's first collection of poems 'Samarpan' was published in 1983 and he did not look backward since then. His 35 books have already been published so far.
